    Went in today to buy some cat food and while leaving, I swore I'm never coming back here again. The 2 ladies here look like they were angry we walked in. Asked for advice on some cat shampoo (I already know they don't need a shower but this cat I have seems to need 1 if he's going to be sleeping on my bed, he's being fostered right now and looks a bit dirty) I got a lecture about how cats don't need showers.. One of the ladies fell down apparently she has a leg thing (obviously I didn't know about) and I asked if she's ok and needs help but she got offended and yelled saying please continue with ur purchase.. What kind of a person would that make me if I didn't stop and ask if she's OK (she yelled pretty loud when she fell). I understand that sometimes ppl don't like being looked at when they trip.. But I can't be that person who looks at someone fall, and carry on like nothing happened. I asked if they had any sample for food as I'm not sure what this cat would eat, he doesn't seem to be touching the food he came with.. So they made a face and said you can buy some they're over there(pointed at a ridiculous selection of cat food samples). Like why are you working here if you're so unhappy with humans.. I mean maybe u love animals so ur at a pet store but unless animals come in themselves to buy stuff, I think u both better change your attitude because I'm they kind to spend thousands on cat products for cat I don't even own! You just lost good business.. You both pretty much sulked all the time I was there and thanks for ruining a perfectly good weekday.

    You know the staff is nice when they still want a picture wth your dog even after he tries to eat all of the displays

    Honestly, the young girl that works the day shift could seriously up her customer experience game. Always abrupt, unfriendly and never says thank you or anything when you walk in or leave. I dont think shes ever offered assistance when I'm in there by myself in the morning, I literally have to keep walking to the cash to ask her questions.There are a lot of pet value choices in this neighbourhood, after getting consistently the same unfriendly attitude after about 6 visits, I won't go to this one again. The Pet Valu at Newtonbrook has bright, cheery, polite and helpful young people who appreciate my business - I have 6 cats and do rescue and spend a ton on petfood. They provide samples and walk through the aisles making recommendations. They obviously have better staff training there.

    Why advertise that you open at 9am when you actually don't? Why make available your business number if no one is available to ever answer?

    Doesn't seem like a big deal but when your on a schedule, people's consideration is appreciated. Don't expect that here.

    Attempted to return an item first thing on a week day morning only to be kept waiting 25 mins past opening time, until someone decided to finally arrive to only lock up behind them and inform us that they needed an extra 10 mins.

    The staff at Pet Valu went above and beyond today helping get a new puppy set up with the right things for him. They took time to socialize with him and recommend what works best for his needs. Thank you for a perfect customer and puppy experience!
