Finally, accessibility is a mixed bag. If you arrive by transit, at least in my experience, that has worked out quite well. If you arrive by car, you may be in for a world of hurt. Although they have expanded parking lot capacity, and provided signage indicating vacancy in some lots, I still find you could drive around for quite some time before landing a good spot. And don't get me started on how long it could take you to get out of the parking lot when things close down.

Parking is free and mostly available. Only during the shopping season, with a little patience, can find parking.

Always a great indoor shopping experience. Can easily spend a good part of the day shopping, walking, eating, resting, movies ...

Outside the context of the stores and restaurants available here, the mall itself is lovely. The hallways are wide, the ceiling are high, and the architecture is interesting. The mall is kept very clean. There are several areas with comfortable seating. There are several bathrooms which are large and cleaned often. Parking can be a nightmare since the mall is so constantly busy, but there is a large wrap around outdoor lot, a parking garage, and valet parking available. If you're in the city, access by transit is much easier as the yellow 1 line has a station attached to the mall by an above ground tunnel. The mall security is plentiful. The admin occasionally have interesting events or displays occurring throughout, like the ongoing Brain Health initiative with Baycrest Hospital. It's a world class mall for sure. As a result, the stores skew very high end. There are some popular cheaper stores, but it's mostly high end name brand stores and show case stores for brands that don't normally have a retail presence. Still, we'll worth a visit whether you're a local or a tourist.

The mall has an exit right off 2 major highways, 401 and the Allen. Yorkdale subway also stops on east side of mall. Recently added Cheesecake Factory. The menu is the same as in the states. This location has very attentive staff and being the first Cheesecake Factory in Canada, it will be viewed more critically. Drinks, entrees and cheesecake all hit the spot. Yes, the line up is long, go during off peak hours until the new year.

For the most part, I think they are evolving the mall in a good direction. The selection of stores here is impressive, covering a very broad range of products and prices. However, you can certainly see clearly the delineation between the newly freshened areas and those that have not seen any love for quite a few years.

Yorkdale seems to me to be in perpetual motion. By this, I mean it is forever under renovation, yet mobs of people flow through this mall on a daily basis.

Amazing mall, you should definitely go there if you have time. They have a wide variety of stores, and they have many departments. They have stores for all levels of wealth. The mall is very big, but it is kept clean. When I went, there was an art event going on, and it was really awesome to see all the pieces of art displayed around the mall. Parking is very easy; before you enter, they have a big sign that says how many parking spaces are left in each area. Each parking space has a sensor, which will show red if taken and green if empty. You can just go in and look for the green light and you will have an easy spot.
